The Hachiya Persimmon is productive and highly ornamental with green foliage in summer and red, orange, and yellow foliage in fall. Fruitful (self pollinating)
Green Leaves will appear in Spring, It grows approximately 1-1.5 ft. a year.
Needs watered with good drainage. Foliage is Deciduous (leaves fall annually and will grow back in the Spring). Zone7-10, Lots of Light Full Sun. Cold Hardy. Wildlife Love Them. Can make good shade trees. Self Pollinating. It is an astringent (can be eaten when they are still firm because they do not contain high levels of acid)Dark green leaves turn yellow, orange and red in late fall. Produces Rich Sweet Fruit. Can produce fruit in 3 years. Can grow to 15' to 20' tall. Prune to keep smaller. Plant 20 feet apart.
