Astringent until fully ripe, or soft. Has few seeds if planted apart from other persimmons. When planting, space 25' apart. Fertilize in spring just before new growth begins. Does best on moist but well-drained soil. Survives hot, cold, and freezing temperatures, hardy to 0 F.
